About Bilara City : A City of Jodhpur, Rajasthan
Bilara is a town and municipality located in the Jodhpur district of the Indian state of Rajasthan. It serves as the administrative headquarters for the Bilara tehsil and is a hub for the local agricultural industry. Situated between the cities of Jodhpur and Jaitaran, Bilara is situated on National Highway 25 and serves as the terminus for a rail line running from Pipar City.
In an effort to improve transportation infrastructure in the region, the National Highways Authority of India has developed 111 km long section, known as the Bar-Bilara-Jodhpur section, connect the western regions of Rajasthan, including Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, and Barmer, with the eastern parts of the state, including Ajmer and Jaipur.
The Bar-Bilara-Jodhpur section is considered a major strategic route, particularly during times of war, as it serves as an important feeder route to Jodhpur. The section is expected to be widened to four lanes, which will allow for smooth flow of military traffic as well as heavy commercial and domestic traffic. In addition, the improved transportation infrastructure will facilitate the transportation of mining and agricultural products.
